Our Story
About Sleeper Cab Gear
I’m Emeka Ogbonna, and I have spent fifteen years living and working in a truck. I have driven for Averitt, National Carriers, Titus Transport, and Wider Group, Inc. Today I own my truck and drive as an owner operator with Landstar Ranger. The sleeper is where I eat, rest, and get ready for the next load. It is my home on the road, and this site is built for drivers who live the same way.
Why I built this site
Every driver has bought gear that did not work. A mattress that did not fit the bunk. An inverter that could not run what we needed. A cheap heater that quit in the first cold week. That money adds up, and it comes out of our pockets. When I went looking for honest answers, I found stores trying to sell me something and review sites written by people who have never slept in a truck. So I decided to do the homework myself and share it with other drivers.
What you will find here
You will find plain, useful guides on the things that make life in a sleeper better. That includes mattresses that fit your bunk, power inverters, small fridges, heaters, cooling, seat cushions, storage, headsets, GPS, and internet on the road. I write for company drivers and owner operators alike, because we all face the same problems after a long day behind the wheel.
What makes this site different
I write from the driver’s seat, not from a desk. I care about the details that stores skip, like whether a mattress really fits your truck and how much power a fridge pulls overnight. I explain things in simple words, and I tell you the truth, even when the answer is that a product is not worth your money.
How I pick what I recommend
Every product on this site gets one of three labels, so you always know how much I really know about it.
Road tested means I used it in my own truck for at least a month.
Hands on means I held it or installed it, but I have not used it for a full season.
Researched means I have not used it myself. I am going by the specs and what other drivers say.
I will never say I tested something that I did not. The FAQ explains each label in more detail. I also earn a small commission when you buy through some of my links. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes what I recommend. The FAQ covers how that works too.
